Vote according to your conscience: Congress

DIMAPUR, JULY 25 (MExN): The 10 Northern Angami-1 Constituency Congress Committee (ACCC) has appealed to the voters of the constituency to cast their votes “according to their conscience and elect the right candidate in the ensuing by-election.”

A press note from the ACCC said that the Election Commission of India has “violated the provision of law under the people Representation Act of 1951 by conducting the by-election in the 10 Northern Angami-1 A/C where the remaining term in office is less than one year.”

“In this by-election, the choice of the electorates is voting for Secularism or anti-Christian party like BJP. The NPF party is the alliance partner of BJP and even recently, the NPF President has stated that, NPF is the “natural ally” of BJP,” the ACCC stated.

It further alleged that “the BJP is the political wing of the RSS, and after the BJP came into power in the centre, the RSS cadres were coming to the state to spread their hidden agenda of ‘Hindutva’ by using the name of National Organising Secretary of BJP and meeting people.”

The ACCC asked the voters of the constituency to “cast their votes for ‘Secularism’ in the by-election, in order to safeguard the identity of the people in the State.”
