Silver Backs, Valour CC and Diphu XI today won their respective matches of the ongoing 10th Silver Cup organised by Nepali Baptist Church Kohima Youth Department at Jakhama Local Ground.
In the first match of the day, Silver Backs defeated NBCK YD by 10 wickets.
Put to bat first NBCK YD managed to score 85 runs losing all wickets in 15 overs with Zuchabemo being the highest scorer with 30 runs. Silver Backs bowlers Ajay was their most successful bowler with 4 wickets. Chasing the target, they managed to achieve the target in 8.3 overs. Rupam Das of Silver Backs was declared man of the match for contributing 50 runs.
Valour CC meanwhile defeated Wriggled 90’s Kohima by a huge margin of 104 runs. Electing to bat first, Valour CC set a target of 201 runs losing 4 wickets in 20 overs. Wriggles managed to score 96 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.
Santosh of Valour CC was declared man of the match for contributing 62 runs and claiming 2 rival wickets.
In the last match of the day, Diphu XI defeated St Joseph’s College (Autonomous) by 6 wickets. Put to bat first, St Joseph’s College managed to score 70 runs losing all wickets while Diphu XI achieved the target losing 4 wickets.
Vicky Handse of Diphu XI was declared man of the match for taking 4 wickets.
