Kohima | November 24 : The 12th state level youth festival 2011 under the aegis of the Directorate of Youth Resources & Sports concluded here this afternoon at the Indira Gandhi Stadium. Youth resources & sports director Kelei Zeliang graced the closing function as the chief guest and gave away prize to the winners.
Speaking on the occasion, the director announced that the department will be having more fund and more activities in the next five years plan. The department will feature adventure programme, capacity building, seminar and symposium, workshop in the next 5 years along with the continuation of youth festival, he said. He said the department also plan to have more innovative programmes and many other activities for the benefit of the youth.
The director congratulated all the winners in the different disciplines during the two day long festival.
Further, the director wishes the winners, who will be representing the state at the national youth festival, to prepare well and adopt regular practice and try to win at the ensuing national level youth festival and bring laurel to the state. He also appreciated all the participants from different parts of the state, adding that without their participation the state level youth festival would not fetch successful.
The closing function was chaired by Arupe Zeliang, joint director, youth resources &sports. Imtirenla from Dimapur district presented a special number. Vote of thanks was proposed by Neilahoulie, deputy director, youth resources & sports. It may be recalled the parliamentary secretary for youth resources & sports Naiba Konyak inaugurated the festival as the chief guest on November 23 last.
