14 tribes of Nagaland call for early solution

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 9 (MExN): 14 tribes of Nagaland today appreciated and acknowledged the “selfless sacrifices and contribution of the National Organizations and the National Workers for keeping alive the Naga political issue over the past many decades and for taking the Naga Political movement thus far whereby the unique history of the Naga people has been acknowledged by the Government of India.”

In a statement, issued by KT Villie, the leadership of the 14 tribes of Nagaland affirmed their united stand on the principles of early solution to the prolonged Naga political problem and to ensure an end to bloodshed within the Naga society.

It informed that the 14 tribes of Nagaland had recently called on the Governor of Nagaland and appreciated both the Government of India and the negotiators for working hard towards resolving the Naga issue.

“To this end, it is now but expedient that the negotiators should not further holdup with impediments but committedly strive to ink the agreement as termed it possible by the GoI through a unified stance in response to the cry of the people and the sentiments of the masses,” the statement asserted.

It further felt that “solution should be worked out at the earliest and the unresolved issues kept alive should be continued to be deliberated for achievement in a specific time bound manner through non-violent, democratic and universally acceptable manner.”
