173 Bn CRPF conduct Civic Action Prog in Dimapur

Dimapur, February 16 (MExN): The 173 Bn CRPF, under the aegis of Vikram Sahgal, IGP Manipur and Nagaland and supervision of Sarbjit Singh, DIG (Ops) CRPF, Kohima, conducted various Civic Action Programmes in different locations of Dimapur for the welfare and livelihood of local population.  

As part of Civic Action Programme 2016-2017, 173 Bn CRPF under the command of Joseph Keishing, Commandant carried out works to provide pure and safe drinking water and healthy atmosphere in the form of clean buildings to students and held alternative livelihood training for unemployed youths, informed a press release from Commandant, 173 Bn CRPF. 

It renovated the school building and Reverse Osmosis (RO) water system for safe drinking water installed in Diphupar Government Middle School (Tangkhul) and constructed a class room at Government Primary School, Kirha, Dimapur.  

Unemployed youths of 6th Mile Model Village, Dimapur were trained on rearing honey bee through staff of Nagaland Honey Mission Dimapur at 173 Bn CRPF Headquarters under the skill development programme. The trainees were also given bee keeping/ growing box.  

Sarbjit Singh, DIG (Ops) CRPF, Kohima inaugurated the renovated school building and R/O System at Government Middle School Diphupar (Tangkhul) and the newly constructed class room at Primary School, Kirha, Dimapur.  

Addressing the gathering, Singh laid emphasis on the importance of education system. He exhorted on the importance of giving education at the early stage, as the children are going to be the pillar of the nation, the release stated. CRPF all over the country have been trying their best to create awareness and improve the education facilities wherein the society will be directly benefitted, he added.  

The press release further said that the 173 Bn CRPF as an icon of CRPF organization is trying its best to live up to its image of helping the poor and needy and uplift of the nation.
