200 KW solar power project commissioned at CIHSR

  Dimapur, February 25 (MExN): A 200 KW solar power project was commissioned at Christian Institute of Health Sciences & Research (CIHSR) on February 23.   Funded and installed by the Department of New and Renewable Energy, Government of Nagaland, it was sourced from the TNT Company.   “This is the biggest solar power plant installed at an institution for non-commercial purposes in Nagaland,” informed a press release issued by CIHSR. The solar panels and batteries of 100 KW each were installed in two locations at CIHSR for the hospital as well as the College of Nursing.   The Engineer in charge at CIHSR, Neiyazo Ndang in his opening remarks stated that the solar plant will meet about 40% of the current electricity requirements.   The plant was inaugurated by Engineer TS Angami, the Director of NRE along with his colleague Inaho, Deputy Director.   Considering the current power scenario in the state and particularly the frequent breakdowns in Dimapur, the solar plant will meet a much needed facility in order to provide continuous quality care to the patients of Nagaland and adjoining state of Assam who come to CIHSR for treatment, it was stated.
