Tuensang, October 20 (MExN): The Strangers’ United today sealed a quarter-final spot at the ongoing 26th Loyem Memorial Trophy with an emphatic FC 4-0 win over Hügel Hifliers.
United’s Nungsang scored early in the 4th minute opening the goal floodgates for the team. A beautiful solo effort by Beshang in the 14th minute doubled the tally for the United.
Nungsang struck again in the 20th minute by converting a penalty shutting out any chance of recovery from the Hifliers.
In the 23rd minute, Athun added another for the United through a deflection.
The United will face Sangzi FC in the quarter-finals.
Meanwhile, Oziepik FC chance of sealing a spot in quarter-finals improved considerably r when they humbled Homers FC 6-0 in the first match of the day on October 20. A double strike from Pule and a goal each for Lamdong, Mongtsoa, Shangtsoi and Thuming set the deal for the team.
On Friday, Foothill United FC won 1-0 against Saksi FC while Nyenshen FC defeated Sangzi FC 1-0.
With the win, Nyenshen FC are through to the quarter-finals as winners of the Group A.
