Dimapur, December 16 (MExN): The 2nd Manik Bhattacharjee Memorial Open Night Badminton Tournament 2017 organised by Hindu Yuva Sanga, Dimapur got underway on December 15 with the motto 'culture of peace' at the Pranab Vidyapith Higher Secondary School campus.
Pukhavi Yepthomi, former councillor Dimapur Municipal Council graced the opening function as the chief guest and declared the tournament. Manoj Bhattacharjee, social worker and educationist was the guest of honour.
All together 37 shuttlers from across the state are taking part in the three day event.
C. Tinu Pongen, retired State Badminton Coach and Grade 1 National Umpire, is the Chief Referee for the tournament.
