Kohima, February 16 (MExN): The 2nd Silver Cup T20 Cricket Tournament under the aegis of the Youth Department of Nepali Baptist Church, Kohima will be held from April 4, 2010 at Kohima local ground.
To be held under the theme ‘Peace and Unity through Cricket’, the tournament aims to promote the game of cricket in the State while also developing unity and friendship amongst the younger generation alongside the Youth Departments of various Churches, thereby ushering peace through sporting extravaganza.
The tournament will continue to have the highest prize money awards as cash prizes amounting to almost Rupees One Lakh (Rs. 1,00,000/-) along with running trophies and certificates. This year an amount of Rs. 5000 each has been hiked for the champions and runners-up cash awards. The champion’s will receive Rs. 45,000 while runners-up will pocket Rs. 20000 with trophies and certificates. Individual prizes which also includes cash, trophies and citations will be given away to the following:- Player of the Tournament, Best Bowler, Best Batsman and Best Wicket Keeper.
