World Consumer Rights Day

Kohima, March 14 (MExN): World Consumer Rights Day will be observed on March 15, 11:00 am at New Market Panchayat Hall, New Market, Kohima under the theme ‘Making digital market places fairer.’ Kezhakhoto Savi, president, Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organization (NVCO) will be the resource person at the program, which is organized by New Market Area Panchayat and New Market Youth Organization and sponsored by Legal Metrology & Consumer Protection Department.
DC Kohima informs Gaon Buras

Kohima, March 14 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, has informed all concerned Gaon Buras under Kohima district to submit the annual House Tax for the year 2017-2018 to the EAC (Sadar), Kohima, C. Wangan on or before March 23, 2018. Concerned GBs have to collect the House Tax and submit the same for the whole village/ward through the Village Council Chairman/Ward Chairman. Failure to submit the House Tax within the stipulated time will entail forfeiture of the House Tax Commissioner and Red Blankets to the erring GBs, warned the DC.

 

AR troops apprehend one

Dimapur, March 14 (MExN): Dimapur battalion of Assam Rifles apprehended one person for illegal possession of weapons during an operation conducted along with a police representative in a house in Chekiye village, Dimapur on March 14. Alleging this in a press release, Assam Rifles identified the individual as Hotovi Zhimo (42). The recoveries from the operation included one 12 Bore Rifle, nine FCC 9mm, it added. The apprehended along with the recovered items was handed over to police station Dimapur for further investigation, the AR said.

 

Cutting and tailoring training in Peren

Peren, March 14 (MExN): General Manager of DIC, Peren has informed all interested persons that there will be Cutting and Tailoring training at DIC office, New Peren from April 1, 2018 for nine months duration. All interested persons can apply to undergo the training through written application addressed to the General Manager, DIC Peren. The minimum qualification for the training is class VIII and the minimum age should not be less than 18 years of age, the GM S. Imliwabang said in a press release. The last date of submission of application is March 26, while the date of interview has been fixed on March 28 at DIC office, new district headquarter Peren.

 

Tangkhul Union Kohima mourns

Kohima, March 14 (MExN): Tangkhul Union Kohima (TUK) has expressed shock over the sudden demise of Apem Zimik on March 14 morning. In a condolence message, the union said Apem was found to be very sincere and dedicated to her work. “She was a very active member in our Union who never failed to contribute her shares in terms of services and financial matters,” it said. The members of TUK further expressed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. “At this hour of sorrow we also pray that God give spiritual strength to the bereaved family members and God console and lighten the heavy heart of the bereaved family,” it added.
