34th AASA annual session concludes

Guest of Honor, other dignitaries and ASSA officials along with winners of various events at valedictory function of 34th annual session of Ato Area Sports Association at Toshiho Village. 

 

DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 17 (MExN): The 34th annual session of Ato Area Sports Association (AASA) being held at Toshiho Village concluded on Saturday. Kakuho Awomi, judicial convener, Western Sumi Kukami Hoho graced the valedictory function as guest of honor and gave away the prizes. 


Hozukhe A team won the 34th GB's Football Trophy defeating Khehoyi village team in the final 1-0. Hito of Khehoyi emerged as the highest scorer. 


Viheto village lifted the men's trophy and Nighakhu team lifted the women's trophy of the 31st Lt. Nikhekhu & Lt. N.Yihoto Zhimo Memorial Men & Women Volley Ball Trophy while S. Hetoyi men's team and Khehoyi women's team finished as runners up of their respective events. Zungkum of Loyir and Kiyeli of Khehoyi were adjudged as best male and female players respectively. 


In the 6th Lt. Shekuto Süü Memorial Men & Women Badminton Trophy, Godwill team prevailed over Toshiho team in the men's final and Loyir team pipped Hozukhe team in the women's final. Awoka of Toshiho and Sorila of Loyir were named best male and female shuttlers. 


Ghokuto village team was declared the best disciplined team of the meet. 


Outgoing president of ASSA Kaviho Yeptho thanked all individuals and organisations, GBs of the area, trophy donors and well wishers for constantly supporting the association to organise the annual event to bring the people of Ato area together and to encourage the younger generation towards games and sports. 


Aron Yimchunger, head GB of Loyir village that will be hosting the 35th edition of ASSA meet also spoke on the occasion. 


Shikavi Zhimo, head GB and advisor ASSA welcomed the dignitaries to the valedictory function. Ghokuto and H. Khehoyi villagers present cultural songs during the function.  Pukaho Awomi, Pastor, Toshiho Baptist Church offered benediction prayer.
