DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 18 (MExN): The 13th NAP (IR) emerged Kabaddi champion defeating the 1st NAP at the event final played today as part of the 37th Nagaland Police Duty cum Sports & Athletic Meet 2017 currently underway at the NAPTC, Chumukedima. The scoreline read 22-20. In an equally exciting hardline match, the 14th NAP (IR) prevailed over the 9th NAP (IR) 37-35. In the volleyball league rounds played today, DEF Peren defeated DEF Kiphire, 3 NAP defeated CP Dimapur , 10th NAP (IR) defeated 9th NAP (IR), DEF Mon defeated 6th NAP, DEF Zunheboto defeated 6th NAP, 9th NAP (IR) defeated 8th NAP, DEF Kiphire defeated 4th NAP and the 3rd NAP defeated DEF Mokokchung. In an evenly poised Badminton Team Event Final match, 12th NAP (IR) edged 11 NAP (IR) and 6th NAP defeated 9th NAP (IR) to emerge as second runners-up. In the volleyball league matches scheduled on November 20, the 10th NAP (IR) will play against 11th NAP (IR), DEF Peren agsinst 12th NAP (IR), DEF Mon against 2nd NAP, and CP Dimapur versus 4 NAP. In the football quarter-finals, also scheduled on November 20, the 3rd NAP will go up against 6th NAP in the first quarter-finals at 8:00 am at the 1st NAP ground. The second quarter-finals between 14th NAP (IR) and 2nd NAP will take place simultaneously at the DGP Sports ground. The third quarter-finals between the 1st NAP and DEF Tuensang will follow in the afternoon at 1:00 pm. The 4th quarter finals will the 12th NAP (IR) taking on DEF Kohima.
