DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 10 (DIPR): Excitement and cheers echoed the Multi Purpose mini stadium Dimapur during the 2nd and final day of the 3rd Dimapur District inter departmental sports week. The ground next to the stadium where track and field events were held was equally full of live with loud cheers and blowing of trumpets, especially during the tug of war event. In the closing programme, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Kesonyu Yhome gave away the prizes to the winning teams and winners in various disciplines The School Education department won the tug of war contest in both the male and female categories. Imtiakum (Jail/prisons) and Subenro Lotha (Jail/Prisons) won the 100 meters sprint in the male and female categories respectively. The Power Department won the 4 × 100 Relay Race for men, while the Prison/Jail department won the women’s event. Dr Antoly Suu (Medical) won the HoD sack race in the women’s category while T Alisaba Phom won the race in the men’s category. Atoshe Swu &Kavito Chopy (Education) won the badminton doubles (Men), while Tsino Viya & Er. Talirenla (G&M) won the women’s event. Ghokheli Sumi (School Education) won the women’s table tennis event, while Kevichukho Kire (Forest) won the men’s event. The overall championship trophy was bagged by the School Education, while Jail/Prisons was declared the overall runners up. The closing programme was chaired by SDO (C ) Dhansiripar, Mhalo Humtsoe; while ADC Dimapur, Sara S Jamir proposed the vote of thanks.
