3rd NSF Federal Assembly held

MOKOKCHUNG, APRIL 5 (MExN): The third Federal Assembly of the Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) was held today at Mokokchung village. The event was hosted by the Ao Students’ Conference (AKM). NSF Federal Assembly Speaker, Amonbo Zeliang, who chaired the assembly business after the formal programme, opened the house for discussion and tabling of agendas from the federating units.  

Several issues were discussed during the business hour, with the Indo-Naga Political issue; Inner Line Permit (ILP) regulation and backdoor appointment taking precedence. The house acknowledged the contributions that the federation has made to the Indo-Naga political talks, with the most recent being its contributions to the ‘Solution Not Election Campaign.’  

The federal assembly meanwhile called upon the Executive Council to reaffirm its stand on an hourable and acceptable solution. It further endorsed the Executive Council to monitor the menace of backdoor appointments and to put in effort towards helping the government streamline its recruitment process.  

Another issue discussed was illegal immigration, with the assembly endorsing the Executive Council to urge the government towards addressing this matter, and ensuring proper implementation of the Inner Line Permit (ILP) regulation.  

The AKM, who hosted the assembly, meanwhile acknowledged the Mokokchung Senso Kaketshir Telongjem, Mokokchung Village Council and the people there for their help in the conduct of the event.
