58th Shamator-Chessore A/C NPF party meeting held

Morung Express News Shamator | May 24   Parliamentary Secretary for Municipal Affairs and Eco & Statistics, R Tohanba, said the NPF Party has its own principles, aims and objectives as laid down in the NPF party’s constitution and that every member of the party, right from the grassroot level to the legislators, are expected to work and function within the framework of the constitution.   The Parliamentary Secretary said any NPF member who violates the party’s principles or go against the spirit of the constitution should face disciplinary action. “Even elected MLAs who work against the principles of the party or not working effectively as per expectations are liable to be questioned,” Tohanba said in his address at the 58th Shamator-Chessore A/C NPF party meeting held on May 20 at Shamator town.  

Tohanba, who is also a member of the Parliamentary Working Committee on Naga political issue, highlighted on the peace initiatives undertaken by the present DAN government led by Chief Minister TR Zeliang to find an amicable and honourable solution to the Naga political problem.   “The leadership of our Chief Minister TR Zeliang is undisputed and all the 60 MLAs are behind him in any decision or initiative taken for the welfare of the Naga people as a whole,” he said.   Tohanba also said despite internal crisis, the NPF Party has so far managed to sail on smoothly and able to secure the trust and confidence of the Naga people under the stewardship of NPF president, Dr. Shurhozelie Liezetsu, the “champion of the regional party.”   Appealing to party workers to continue to extend unstinted support and cooperation to the DAN government for all round development in the state, Tohanba also appealed to party workers of Shamator-Chessore A/C to strive maintain peace and understanding in the constituency.   Further, he stressed on “transparency and accountability” in use of local area development fund LADF in each and every unit and village.   President, 58th Shamator-Chessore A/C NPF unit, H Shitoba, delivered the welcome address and advisors of the NPF unit, Lakiumong, R Kiuji and R Thongthong also delivered short speeches. The NPF unit’s general secretary, G Kiuthsang, chaired the programme.
