Abduction case amicably resolved: PAC

Dimapur, November 17 (MExN): The Public Action Committee (PAC), Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) comprising of Naga Women Hoho Dimapur, DUCCF, BAN, GBs and 19 tribal hohos and NSCN (IM) represented by Chaplee Kilonser, CAO UT-1 along with senior leaders on November 15 have "resolved and settled amicably" the alleged abduction case of a saleswoman working in a pharmacy at Purana Bazaar, Dimapur. The mmeting was held at the Naga Council Dimapur office.  

According to a press release from PAC NCD Convenor Vekhosayi Nyekha and Co-Convenor K Ghokheto Chophy, it was stated that “On the part of the NSCN (IM), they have admitted to the kidnapping act and sincerely apologized to the public and the family in particular and assured the public for immediate action on the cadres and declared to give full cooperation to the PAC to work for a healthier society.”  

PAC also appealed to all NPGs to discipline its cadres to know their assigned duty and not for “collections of money,” it added. Meanwhile, according to a suspension order issued by NSCN (IM), the two accused involved in the alleged abduction – Nikato Katty and Vikashe Achumi , both ‘Leacy,’ has been suspended for the period of one year with “immediate effect.” The November 15 suspension order was per the direction of Kilo Kilonser, stated the order appended by Secretary to GPRN.  

A notification from Assistant Drugs Controller said that the pharmacy “followed all conditions stated in the Drugs and Cosmetics Act 1940” and no “illegal drugs” were found within its premises.
