Abiogenesis performs at Shillong’s Cherry Blossom Festival

The Government of Meghalaya kick-started the 2nd India International Cherry Blossom Festival on November 9at the 5th Ground, Polo Grounds, Shillong with the Meghalaya Minister for Forests & Environment, Clement Marak was the chief guest.   The Festival is being held in association with the Institute of Bio-resources & Sustainable Development (IBSD), Government of India and Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), Government of India.   A press note stated here that Abiogenesis, the folk fusion band from Dimapur performed on the second day of the festival. The evening saw folk dancers from all the North Eastern states and right after the dances, Abiogenesis performed for 40 minutes where on their last song, all the artistes joined them on stage performing their respective dances.   Regarded as the World’s only Autumn Cherry Blossom Festival, it is held simultaneously at 5th Ground at Polo and Wards Lake from November 8 to 11.
