The Against Corruption & Unabated Taxation (ACAUT) has accepted the resignations of its Chairman, Joel Naga and Spokesperson, Mar Longkumer.

Addressing media persons after their meeting at Sovima, Dimapur on Thursday, ACAUT leaders said they have “resolved to gladly accept their resignations.”

ACAUT said that the involvement of the duo in Core Committee of Nagaland Tribal Hohos and Civil Organisations (CCNTHCO) was purely on their individual capacity and that it never endorsed them to represent ACAUT in the Committee which was recently dissolved. “If they did not resign, ACAUT would have forced them to resign for misusing ACAUT platform and tarnishing its image,” said one of the leaders.

ACAUT said it still stands on the principle of fighting against corruption, One Government, One Tax and early solution to the Naga political issue inclusive of all Naga national political groups.

Commenting on its Advisor, K.K.Sema intending to contest the elections, ACAUT said it had a standing resolution that if any of its members get involved into politics then he or she automatically detaches from ACAUT. “However, it is made clear that ACAUT did not send him to contest elections. We appreciate and honour his contributions to ACAUT and wish him the best,” ACAUT said. ACAUT appealed the public to elect upright leaders.
