ACAUT weclomes ‘local organic market’ initiative

Kohima, September 6 (MExN): The ACAUT Nagaland has lauded the initiative of Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) for opening a daily local organic market at supermarket (Naga Shopping Arcade) Dimapur.

“This indeed is much welcome step which will be a huge boost not only for the farmers but will go a long way in boosting the economy of the state,” a release from ACAUT’s Media cell stated.

It further expressed hope from the Government to monitor and extend all possible help to the farmers and local vendors and appealed the citizens of Dimapur to support and patronize the local market.

“The ACAUT Nagaland appreciates the coming together of the Horticulture Department, Development Authority of Nagaland (DAN) and State Cooperative Bank in making the much needed exclusive local market possible,” the release added.

Stating that economic independence is paramount for a nation’s dignity and survival, the ACAUT also feted the six NNPGs’ resolve to exempt Naga entrepreneurs from taxation.

“Any unscrupulous elements/organizations that tries to dampen the positive initiative should be dealt with iron fist,” it added and further requested the Police Department to ensure ample security in the market area.”
