Acharya condoles Shankaracharya’s demise

Dimapur, March 1 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya has condoled the death Jagadguru Shri Jayendra Saraswathi Shankaracharya, head of Pontiff of the Kanchi Kamakoti Peetham.  

In a message release by the PRO to Governor, Acharya said that Jayendra Saraswathi was the head of the Mutt established by Adi Shankaracharya in the 5th Century AD and under his guidance, the Mutt started several schools and hospitals.  

“Jayendra Saraswathi ensured that the Mutt involved itself in various social activities and the Mutt today runs several schools, eye clinics and hospitals,” he said.  

“He was seen as an avataar of Shiva Shankara and promulgated concept of Santana Dharma,” Acharya added.   Saraswathi’s contribution for the welfare of mankind and in promoting spirituality will always be an inspiration for others, the Governor further maintained.
