Nagaland Governor PB Acharya today expressed hope of an early settlement of Naga political issue. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he said, has a strong political will to solve the problem and bring permanent peace to Nagas.

“Let us all join hands to make our Nagaland a great and vibrant prosperous and peaceful state,” he urged, while addressing the inaugural function of Hornbill Festival here.

Stressing on the need to show to the world that Nagaland is a peaceful state, he said, “Peace is a must in order to boost growth and development. We have to ensure that we live in harmony with one another that is beneficial for the society.”

Hornbill Festival, he added, is a reminder that “we should always remember our roots, our traditions and our culture.” The Governor maintained preserving one’s traditional ways of life is very important in one’s life.

“Our dialects, dances, songs, clothes we wear and games we play, make our identity and we should be proud of it and promote them,” he said.

Stating that Nagaland state is blessed with natural beauty, he added, “It has abundant potential in terms of tourism. I am sure, by organising mega events like the Hornbill Festival, we should be able to attract more tourists to the state.”
