ACWA convention emphasizes on ‘Role of Christian women’

Kohima, January 19 (MExN): The 22nd Convention of the Angami Catholic Women Association (ACWA) turned day-two on January 18 at the campus of St Paul Church in Phesama, Kohima. 


V Lucas Meyase who spoke on the theme, "Role of Christian women in today's world" urged women to rededicate their Catholic faith in their family, church and the society. He emphasized on the inner beauty which is “more important than the outer look” and said faith needs to be deeply rooted in the heart and grow up from it. 


Meyase asked women to be responsive in giving priority to their spouses and children and urged them to evangelize and teach cathecism in their families which they should consider as their biggest mission.


He called on the faithful to be the messengers of the Gospel and lead by examples in the society with love. 


Meyase urged the believers to organize more retreats for the menfolk and uplift encourage them and bring them closer to the church. He said a mother is the first teacher of a child and “more equivalent to a hundred schoolmasters.”


He further cautioned about the dangerous forces which may shake the faith of the Christians and asked the gathering to continue to stand firm in their faith as Christians .


Earlier, in the morning, Eucharist was celebrated by Rev Arul Susai, parish priest of St Paul Parish Phesama . 


In the first session of the day, Rev Sr Medokuonuo Margaret Sekhose was the speaker. Later, Rev Fr Keduoneilie Alex Vizo conducted the adoration and healing service . 


Meanwhile, ACWA new team of office bearers led by its president Kikrusanuo Clara were elected by representatives of various churches for the term 2020-2022. 


The recording desk registered about 1000 faithfuls attending the second-day of the ACWA convention.
