ADC Shamator directs GBs to stay in respective jurisdictions

Shamator, April 7 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner Shamator, T Lanko Sen Sanglao has directed all the Goan Buras (GBs) and other figures of authority to be reachable at all times at their respective  stations or places with immediate effect and assist various public authorities working for the  welfare of the people.

In an order issued on April 4, the ADC said that during the ensuing nation-wide lockdown, there were many instances of GBs of Shamator town and surrounding villages being absent from their respective locations or jurisdictions.

“When communities around the world are going through sufferings, panic and severe disruption of normal lives due to COVID-19 pandemic, the role of Gaon Buras and such other figures of authority has assumed greater significance,” he added.

Particularly in critical areas  such as dissemination of information conveyed by the government to the masses, dispelling of  fake news or rumours, monitoring and enforcement of the lockdown and the guidelines,  assistance to the needy, cooperation with the authority and restoring a sense of calm and order  in the society, their role is crucial, the ADC maintained in the order.

In this regard, the order said that till such time the Government declares normalcy, all GBs and other figures of authority are directed to “be reachable at all times at their respective  stations/places with immediate effect and assist various public authorities working for the  welfare of the people.”

“Non compliance to instructions issued by authority shall be dealt with as per provisions of law,” the order added.
