Aged SEWAK wall cave in on civilian dwelling

A section of an aged brick wall marking the outer perimeter of the SEWAK collapsed on July 1 falling over a row of thatch dwelling located just beyond the perimeter wall. The wall was reported to be over 40 years old.  

According to the chairman of Residency Colony, it occurred around 10: 00 am on July 1. The wall, over 6 feet in height, shares boundary with Residency colony. The collapsed section running some 25-30 feet in length destroyed two kitchens. It fell on a thatch structure housing 3 families. While informing that no one was injured, the chairman said that some of the occupants were in the kitchen at the time.  

The chairman added that some few months earlier a tree standing on the edge of the SEWAK perimeter wall fell damaging a civilian house located just beyond the wall.  

Asked on the measures taken by the SEWAK authorities, the chairman said that “field staff” examined the collapsed section during the day while assuring to inform “higher ups.”
