AIHRC honours human rights activist from Nagaland

DIMAPUR, MAY 3 (MExN): The All India Human Rights Council has conferred Dr Kenny from Nagaland state with Honoris Causa on human rights and social work for his “exemplary leadership qualities and working tirelessly behind the scene for protection of human rights.”

 

A press note from the All India Human Rights Council informed that the Honoris Causa with all its privileges and titles was conferred upon Dr Kenny from Wokha district by the International University for Humanity, Health Science and Peace, USA, during the Global Peace Conference held in Bangalore, India on May 1.

 

The certificate was handed over to him by Dr Srinivas Rao Eluri, Indian Peace Ambassador to United Nations, International Commission of Diplomatic Relations, Human Rights and Peace. Dr Eluri stated that “academic doctorate can be achieved if people give time and study but it takes a lifetime of good hard work to get International recognition and be honoured with this doctorate degree” and applauded Dr Kenny stating that “achieving this at such early stage of his life was a feat in itself.”

 

Dr Kenny is also the youngest and the first person from the North East to be honored with this Honoris Causa.
