AKM launches Clean Election Campaign

The Ao Kaketshir Mungdang (AKM), apex students’ organization of the Ao community, launched its Clean Election Campaign today at Town Hall, Mokokchung. It was attended by about a thousand students from all the colleges in Mokokchung Town, civil society organizations, and media persons.  

Resource persons of the day were Moa Aier, Additional Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland and Subonenba Longkumer, Director, Community Education Centre Society (CECS), Dimapur.  

Deputy Commissioner of Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal IAS also spoke at the function, which was followed by a demonstration on Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines. Vice President of Ao Senden, Chubawati Longchar, former president of Watsu Mungdang I.Limala Ozukum and Secretary of ABAM Youth Ministry, Toshi Sanglir were the other speakers.  

Presentations made by the resource persons were followed by a questions and answers session, which was moderated by Limalenden Longkumer, President of Mokokchung Press Club.
