ANCSU new team pledges to tackle ‘confronting issues’

The new and outgoing ANCSU executive council after the change of guard programme held at Kohima on November 20. 
 

Kohima, November 20 (MExN): Newly elected executive council of All Nagaland College Students’ Union (ANCSU) 2019-21 led by Vimeyiekho Vitso as president took over the union during the change of guard programme held at NSF conference hall Kohima on November 20 evening.


The new president ANCSU Vimeyiekho Vitso in address assured that his team would continue to uphold the objective and vision of the pioneers and seniors of the union to deliver justice work for the welfare and well being of the students’ community. He said the union has lots of confronting issue like scholarships, land encroachment, shortage of lecturers, academic policy etc to bring into positive outcome.  


The outgoing president ANCSU Katho P Awomi in his address said there is no regret for ANCSU by facing various confrontations in the past as those were for the welfare of the students’ community. He lamented that some people are threat to the ANCSU and try to sabotage the union activities; however ANCSU would continue to work for the welfare of the students’ community. He advised the new team to follow the constitution of the union accordingly and continue to follow the footsteps of the pioneers and seniors with sincerity to save the students’ community.


Former president NSF Kesosül Christopher Ltu in his brief address encouraged the new team to continue the issue and objective of the union as the driving force of the union. He recalled that the platform like ANCSU is the best training ground to produce good leadership in the future. He advised the union members to stay unity and contribute positive things for the society and students’ community.


The programme was chaired by Benjong Longchar, invocation prayer said by Pithungo Shitio, dedicatory prayer for the new team proposed by associate pastor KABA Tiatoshi Longkumer while vote of thanks tendered by Meyitila. Programme was attended by NSF officials, former ANCSU leaders, former NSF leaders, students’ leaders of various colleges and others.


The executive council includes Vimeyiekho Vitso as president, Inato Y Chisho as vice president, Imnameren N Jamir as general secretary, Inagha Kinny as AGS, Edward Nring as finance secretary, Imtinaro Imsong as social and cultural secretary, Keneitsituo kense as Education secretary, Aochuba P Jamir as information & publicity secretary, Kahovi Rochill as magazine secretary, Tenyesinlo Bukh as games and sports secretary, and Lika A Zhimo as women coordinator.
