Dimapur, April 21 (MExN): The All Nagaland School Teachers Association (ANSTA) has lauded the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Nagaland for revising the Non-Detention Police (NDP) “for the benefit and to the advantage of the students.”
A press statement from ANSTA officials meanwhile requested the SCERT to issue necessary notification on the Revised Guidelines of NDP to the respective schools for timely compliance.
ANSTA in the statement said that since the implementation of RTE Act 2009, is has observed enough that Non-Detention Policy is “not relevant and does not suit to our present situation.” However, it said, the Association had been left helpless in view of the fact that the policy was an Act of Parliament to be followed.
The SCERT, it added, had taken a bold step in revising NDP by making several changes in the policy and making it more relevant to the present context of Nagaland State. The statement was appended by ANSTA president Ponchulo Wanth, treasurer Temjenyapang, and joint secretary Visato Koso.
