The renovated Ao Morung at Naga Heritage village Kisama was inaugurated today by Temjen Toy, Chief Secretary, Nagaland in the presence of representatives from Ao Senden, Kohima Ao Telongjem (KAT), Kohima Ao Officers Telongjem, Kohima Ao Watsu Telen, host of invitees & dignitaries.


The renovation mission was supervised under the aegis of the KAT.


Chief Secretary Temjen Toy in his short address congratulated the KAT for renovating the Morung with the cooperation of the entire Ao community.


This morung should serve as house of unity thereby uniting the entire community “while we celebrate festivals in the coming days.”


We have begun a journey of new hope with this Morung renovation, he said and sought cooperation from the people of Ao from all walks of lives.


Let us also play a pivotal role by extending unity & oneness to all other communities around us and start a journey of new hope & vision to build a better place for the Nagas to live in.


According to the Construction Committee, the long desired of the community in being fulfilled by bringing out the fully renovated Morung into a reality and expressed gratefulness to all those who involved in the construction task on different forms.


Representatives of Finance Committee, Fund Raising Committee, Ao Senden, Kohima Ao Telongjem, Kohima Ao Officers Telongjem and Kohima Ao Watsu Telen also spoke at the programme.
