APO reiterates WSH stand on usage of Naga name

Kohima, April 9 (MExN): The Angami Public Organisation (APO) expressed its appreciation and full support  to the Western Sumi Hoho (WSH) for taking bold steps regarding the usage of Naga names and surnames by the non- Nagas.

The WSH had earlier cautioned the use of Naga names and surnames by non Nagas and “questioned the people involved how some advocates could and notary publics despite of knowing such people who are of non-Naga origin be accorded Naga names or surnames?”

The APO in a press statement stated “unless this dangerous trend is checked or stopped completely before it is too late, not only our business and properties would be totally taken over by them but our very own land will be lost and swallowed completely by these non-Nagas.”

While applauding the WSH for taking the bold stand, the APO urged other tribal Hohos “to give solidarity to the WSH at all cost in safe- guarding our Naga names and surnames now and in the future. “

The APO also cautioned Advocates/Notary Public/s against taking up such “cases of usage of Naga names and surnames by non Nagas.”
