Jalukie, May 6 (MExN): Troops of 36 Assam Rifles apprehended 9 individuals including one Captain and one Area Political Organizer of NSCN (IM) during a search operation launched in Jalukie Town, Peren on May 5. A press release from Assam Rifles alleged that 5 AK series Rifles, one US made gun, one shot gun, one .22 rifle, one pellet gun, 2 pistols, 5 hand grenades, one radio set, 300 rounds of various calibres and various documents related to NSCN (IM) were seized in the operation conducted based on specific input regarding presence of armed cadres in the area. In a separate incident, troops of 32 Assam Rifles along with police representative apprehended an individual identified as Nchumbemo Lotha (22) from Notun Basti, Dimapur on May 5 with one .22 mm pistol with magazine. He revealed his involvement in procurement and smuggling of arms, alleged a press release from Lt Col Amitabh Sharma, PRO, HQ IGAR (North). The apprehended person along with the recovered items was handed over to West Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation.
