Dimapur, August 29 (MExN): A NSCN (K) cadre was arrested by a joint team of 9 and 18 Assam Rifles along with representative of Nagaland Police on August 26 at Jalukie Town.
A press note from the Assam Rifles informed that the joint team tracked and arrested him near Veterinary Colony, Jalukie Town after receiving specific information regarding the presence of the cadre.
The AR identified the cadre as Kuria Liegise, an alleged “SS Sgt Maj” of NSCN (K) from Benreu Village under Peren District.
The team also recovered one 7.65 mm Pistol, three rds, one magazine and six extortion slip of NSCN (K) from his possesion, it said.
During the initial questioning, the cadre revealed that he is an active member of NSCN (K) and has been working independently at Jalukie, Peren and been receiving orders to collect tax, it added.
