AR jawans sensitized on TB, HIV/AIDS, tobacco control

Dimapur, October 9 (MExN): The 32 Assam Rifles held an awareness programme on TB, HIV/AIDS, tobacco control, and vector borne disease and immunization at Kashiram Basti, Dimapur on October 8. It was organised under the aegis of 6 Sector Assam Rifles in co-ordination with the Chief Medical Officer’s office, Dimapur.  

In his inaugural speech, Col. VS Shikarwar urged the jawans and their families to follow and inculcate good healthy habits and also spread the knowledge of healthy living to the near and dear ones.  

The resource persons were Dr. Tetseo, National Tobacco Control Programme, Dr. Moa, National Vector Borne Disease Control Progamme, Dr. Lanuakum, District Programme Officer on Immunization and RCH, Dr. Panger for TB Control Programme and Yanger on HIV/AIDS.  

A press release stated that the programme was also graced by Col. Mahinder Singh, Addl. DIG, HQ Sector 6 and Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Antoly, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, and was attended by Dr. C. Yanpo Kithan, ZLO Dimapur, Dr. Albert and staff under Lengrijan SC besides jawans and their families and personnel under 32 Assam Rifles.
