Dimapur, May 8 (MExN): The Assam Rifles motorcycle rally being held under the theme ‘HIV & Drug Free Nagaland’ has reached Kiphire, Medziphema, and Ahthibung.
The bikers of 5 Sector Assam Rifles moved from Jessami to Kiphire via Meluri, Akhegwo and Longmatra villages on May 6, while 6 Sector Assam Rifles reached Medziphema on May 7 and moved to Athibung village on May 8.
The bikers spread the message of ‘HIV & Drug Free Nagaland’ throughout their journey, according to a press release from Assam Rifles.
As part of the ‘HIV/AIDS & Drug Free Nagaland’ campaign, a series of programs, including medical camps and awareness lectures, were organized in the three places. Poster making cum drawing competition, march by school students, skit by Red Ribbon Club, cultural dance & musical event were other highlights of the events.
It was informed that the 5 Sector Assam Rifles will travel to Zunheboto via Sampurre, Sitimi and Seyochung villages. The rally was flagged off for Zunheboto at helipad ground, Kiphire by Commandant of 7 Assam Rifles on May 8.
Meanwhile, the bikers of 6 Sector Assam Rifles will reach Dimapur via Jalukie. They will be flagged in at Kashiram Basti, Headquarters 6 Sector Assam Rifles marking the culmination of the event.
