AR organises Ex-Servicemen rally in Tsg

Dimapur, October 12 (MExN): A Rally for Ex-Servicemen, Veer Naris and War Widows of Assam Rifles was organised by 40 AR under aegis of HQ IGAR (North) in Tuensang on October 10. The rally held with the objective to enhance interaction was attended by 78 Ex-Servicemen, two Veer Naris and Widows of ESM and dependents from Mon, Tuensang, Zunheboto, Longleng and Mokokchung districts, a press release from Lt Col Amitabh Sharma PRO HQ IGAR (North) informed.  

It was inaugurated by Col AH Khan, Officiating Commander 7 Sector Assam Rifles, who also assured the veterans that the AR will always stand and continue to work for their upliftment and well being, it said.  

The representatives of pension branch, HQ DGAR also informed the gathering about the various benefits and new welfare schemes launched for them. Problems faced by the Ex-Servicemen including anomalies in fixation of pension after implementation of 7th CPC Report were also recorded for rectifications, the release said.  

Three Gallantry Award winners, 2 Veer Naris and 1 battle casualty were also felicitated and all other veterans were given caps and blankets as souvenirs, it added. A local dance troupe performed a Yimchunger dance while the Pipe Band and Jazz Band of 40 AR also showcased their talent at the event. The Rally also included a medical and dental camp and arrangements were also made for provision of Canteen facilities.
