Arise for Change: ‘Concerned Citizens’ meeting

Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): With the theme "Arise for Change", a group of citizens have called for a mass public meeting of “Concerned Citizens” at IMC Dimapur on January 25, 10:00 am.

Calling for joining of hands, the concerned individuals in a statement asserted that the time has come “to decide how to save ourselves”.

“Let us stand up and look around our surroundings and remind ourselves once again how our people are going through the burden of corruption,” it stated and added, “Under this kind of atmosphere neither we nor our posterity can develop the quality attitude needed to progress as a people with future and dignity.”

The group termed the meeting “an opportunity of a lifetime” to enable the raising up of next generation legislators and replacing the entire batch of "present corrupt legislators."

“Nagas have had enough of injustice and deprivation on all front,” it stated and further maintained that at this point, we should not allow the situation to take its own course as corruption has reached its limit.

“Concerned citizens of Nagaland, stir up yourself, we only have to come together on this day and plan the next course of action,” it appealed while adding that the time was “ripe” for a revolution.

“Please take the trouble of taking ONE step, without YOU there can be no revolution,” it urged.
