ARPC Jalukie conducts annual sports week

JALUKIE, DECEMBER 4 (MExN): The Assam Rifles Public School, Jalukie held its 5th annual sports week for the academic session 2019-20 from November 27 to 30 at the 36 Assam Rifles, Jalukie Bn. Football ground. 


The annual sports week was held under the theme “Fit India School Week.”  


Col. Shakti Singh, Commandant, 36 Assam Rifles, Jalukie Bn. graced the opening ceremony as the Chief Guest.

 
Col. Singh in his speech spoke about the importance and benefits of games & sports. He also thanked faculty/non-faculty/administrator staff for organizing the sports week. The programme was chaired by Reluile Haiteilung, Assistant Teacher and vote of thanks was delivered by Huritan Zeliang, Assistant Teacher. In the opening ceremony, various presentations were also held like songs, drill display, cultural dance etc performed by the students.  


Events including long jump, high jump, shot-put, relay race, race, sack race, three legged race, marathon, badminton, volleyball, football, tug-of-war and Kho-Kho were played for 4 days.


N Kiziuna, Principal, ARPS, Jalukie graced the closing ceremony and vote of thanks was delivered by Keneingulie Khezhie.  


The 4 days events witnessed competition between four teams namely Green House, Blue House, Red House and Yellow House. Green house team was declared as the overall champion while Blue house team bagged the runner up position. H Zaza Sephe was awarded as the best sports person in overall girls category and Insadaube Pame as best sports person in boys’ category.
