ASHA 6th Module training underway in Zbto

Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): The 6th Module of the ASHA training under Zunheboto District got underway at the Chief Medical Officer’s Office on February 7 for ASHAs under Zunheboto block.
Zunheboto District Media Officer, P. Renthungo Odyuo informed in a press release that altogether 35 ASHAs from villages under the block are attending the five day training which is slated to conclude on February 12. The modular training which is being conducted in a phased manner will cover all the five blocks in the district.
Meanwhile, officials from the District Programme Management Unit comprising of Avikali Jhakhalu, DPM, P. Renthungo Odyuo District Media Officer, Naro Imchen Accountant and Inahoto Chophi, BPM undertook a supervisory tour of Satakha PHC, where the second batch ASHA training for ASHAs under Satakha block had commenced on February 8. The team interacted with the trainers and ASHAs during their visit and observed that there was an active participation from all the trainees.
The release also added that the training is primarily intended as a refresher module aimed at building on existing knowledge and the development of new skills in the area of maternal and child health. In addition field trips and practical demonstrations are also incorporated in the training. All the ASHAs under the District would be trained within the next two weeks.
