ASHA training conducted in Tuensang

Dimapur, February 9 (MExN): Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA) training of the six blocks of Tuensang district including Tuensang Sadar, Noksen, Thonoknyu, Noksen, Shamator-Chessore and Longkhim-Chare was held from January 18 to February 5 at the conference hall of the Chief Medical Officer, Tuensang.
A press release received here stated that the resource persons for the training included Noksen ASHA Co-ordinator Tazunglemla, Thonoknyu ASHA Co-ordinator Y. Rebekha Tütsüliu, Longkhim ASHA Co-ordinator Sendonglemla Sangtam and Medical Officer (MO) Thonoknyu Dr. Victor. The ASHAs were trained on various skills including qualities that make an effective ASHA, role during the Village Health and Nutrition Day (VHND), maternal health, pregnancy diagnosis, post-partum care, newborn health etc.
During the training, they were also shown ‘Nanhi Si Jaan’, a short documentary on the importance of ANC, post-natal care, child health etc. Altogether 144 ASHAs participated in the training.
