Kohima, October 6 (MExN): Chief Minister of Assam, Sarbananda Sonowal visited Dinjan Military Station, Assam on October 5 and interacted with GOC, Spear Corps and other officers of the station.
During the interaction, he was briefed on the current security situation in the State and the actions taken by the security forces in maintaining peace and tranquility in the region.
As per a press release from Lt Col Sumit Sharma, PRO (Def), the Chief Minister lauded the contribution of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles in maintaining peace thereby facilitating developmental activities in the State. The GOC assured the Chief Minister of the continued support of the Army in improving the security situation in the State and also in any disaster relief contingencies.
