Dimapur, April 20 (MExN): Four NSCN (R) cadres were arrested by troops of 41 Assam Rifles alongwith police representative from the general area of Patkai Bridge, Dimapur, an AR official informed today. They were arrested when a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP) was established by the security forces based on a specific information regarding movement of armed cadres on NH-29, Lt Col Amitabh Sharma PRO, HQ IGAR (North) said in a press release. The cadres were arrested when two vehicles were going towards Kohima were separately intercepted during the search operation, it said adding that the first arrest was the occupant of a Bolero, carrying one Pt 32 mm Pistol with magazine. Another vehicle, following the Bolero was also intercepted and one AK-56 Rifle, one 9 mm Pistol, one Pt 32 mm Pistol and eight live rounds of assorted ammunition were recovered from the three occupants who were also apprehended, it added. The AR identified the apprehendees as identified Lt. Col. Kuhoto V Anche; Lt. Atoka Awomi, Maj. Ato Yeputho; and Major Samuel. The apprehendees along with the recovered arms and ammunition were handed over to Diphupar Police Station, Dimapur for further investigation, the release said.
