Assam Rifles celebrate Teacher’s Day

Kohima, September 11 (MExN): Assam Rifles battalions under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) celebrated Teacher’s Day in various Assam Rifles Public Schools across the State on September 5.   At Assam Rifles Public School, Kohima, children organized a special function for the teachers as a mark of respect and conducted various activities, including cultural programs and games, informed a press release from PRO, HQ IGAR (North). Teachers were also awarded titles by the students, which was followed by screening of a movie ‘Remembering the Titans’ to inspire both children and teachers for greater bond with their institution/school, it added.   Meanwhile, the students of 28 Assam Rifles in Wokha felicitated their teachers who have mentored and guided them throughout. They performed cultural dance, group songs etc and showered gifts and bouquets to their teachers, the release added. A total of 150 students and 20 teachers were present in the celebration. On the other hand, Commandant, 28 Assam Rifles was invited as chief guest by students of Government Higher Secondary School, Wokha. The Commandant in his speech lauded the initiatives of the students and their bond with their teachers.   44 Assam Rifles organized a special programme at Assam Rifles High School, Mokokchung honouring the mentors who have been shaping the present and future society. The students paid gratitude to the “path-finders,” according to the release.   36 Assam Rifles celebrated Teacher’s Day at Assam Rifles Public High School, Jalukie. Mamata Thakur, chief guest and 2IC Rajib Kalita, SM, Second-in-Command were present in the programme. A total of 279 students and 20 teachers attended the celebration, where a special cultural programme was presented by the students. Mamata Thakur appreciated all students and teachers and advised them to take active part in all activities and showcase their talent.   Meanwhile, 22 Assam Rifles provided administrative help for the conduct of Teacher’s Day programme at Government Middle School, Phek. Assistant Commandant Balmuri Avanish, Assam Rifles Medical Officer, 22 Assam Rifles also attended the celebration.
