Assam Rifles conduct lecture, medical camp

Dimapur, October 3 (MExN): Assam Rifles units under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted various programmes in Nagaland recently.  

9 Assam Rifles organized painting competition on the theme ‘India – A Land of Cultural Diversities’ at Pfutsero Baptist School on September 28. The aim of the competition was to inculcate competitive spirit and bring out hidden talents among the students, according to a press release from HQ IGAR. 40 students from classes V to Class X participated in the competition, which concluded with prize distribution for the three best paintings.  

32 Assam Rifles organised an awareness lecture on ‘Wildlife Conservation - Amur Falcon’ at Government Primary School, Ekrani Pathar village, Dimapur on September 27. Held with an aim to educate and spread awareness about the migratory bird Amur Falcon, the lecture highlighted measures for conservation of Amur Falcon. The lecture was attended by 60 students, teachers and staff of Government Primary School, Ekrani Pathar village.  

Meanwhile, 41 AR organised a medical camp at Kukidolong village, Dimapur district on September 27. A team of Assam Rifles medical staff provided treatment and free medicines to 140 locals. In addition, people were also educated on the importance of vaccination, health & hygiene and common first aid methods.
