Dimapur, March 7 (MExN): Chieswema Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted a medical camp in a remotely located village Khomi, Phek district on March 7. A press note stated here that a specially constituted medical team under 2IC (CMO) C Satyaranjan along with two Nursing Assistants and one laboratory assistant conducted the medical camp. The medical team conducted screening of diabetes. In addition, 2IC C Satyaranjan imparted a lecture on ‘Healthy Life’ encompassing basic health education, precautions from viral disease, importance of hygiene and sanitation and HIV/ AIDS.
Wokha Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (N) conducted a med camp at New Colony, Wokha village on March 7. The aim of the medical camp was to provide medical support and assistance to the doorstep to the needy villagers especially the old people and the women who are unable to go to the hospitals at far distances. A total of 51 female, 42 male and 30 children were examined and given free treatment during the camp. Free medicines were also provided and people were educated about the importance of timely vaccination, personal hygiene and sanitation.
