Assam Rifles tri-nation motorcycle expedition team reaches Kohima

Kohima, November 13 (MExN): Assam Rifles’ tri-nation Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Unity and Heritage Motorcycle Expedition team was ‘flagged in’ at Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), Kohima on November 13.  

The expedition has been conceptualized by the Assam Rifles to commemorate the 142nd birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, informed a press release received here. Daring riders of the expedition team has covered a distance of 2150 km on motorcycles across six North Eastern states in India and travelled through Myanmar and Bangladesh. The team started from Imphal on November 13 at 9:30 am and reached Kohima through Jwalamukhi.  

Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) praised the efforts of all the team members “on successfully completing major part of the expedition and fostering a bond of brotherhood in all the areas where the expedition ventured,” the release stated.  

The expedition team leader Col PKS Gaur hoped that the expedition will strengthen brotherhood and unity among the people of NE region.
