Associations want action against PHE officers overstaying their post

DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 19 (MExN): Two associations- the Civil Engineers' Association of Nagaland (CEAN) and Combined Technical Association of Nagaland (CTAN) have expressed support to those individuals fighting for their rights under the PHE department against some officers allegedly overstaying their post without retiring. The two associations, in a joint press release stated that these erring officials in question has violated the Nagaland Government Retirement Act, 1991 which states that a government official is to retire after serving for 35 years or after attainment of 60 years of age whichever is earlier. It stated that the actions of these erring officers will not only affect the career of their juniors but also aspirants who will be competing for those vacancies through direct recruitment. It has therefore appealed the concerned authorities to take appropriate action instead of dragging the issue to unwanted consequences.
