ASU Students Code

The Angami Students’ Union (ASU) is issuing a Students Code keeping in mind the wellbeing of the daily affairs of the students as it has been brought to light that various detrimental activities are being blatantly committed by the students both outside and inside many institutions. Besides that, the code also covers many other factors which are contributed by the public towards such acts. The code seeks cooperation and support of everyone in the Angami jurisdiction.    

  • Any students found in alcohol joints, cyber cafes or any other places in uniforms are unacceptable during the school hours. And in such cases, the proprietors of alcohol joints and cyber cafes will also be equally penalized. And students in uniform roaming about during school hours shall be thoroughly checked and monitored.

 

  • Any students in uniform found indulging in any immoral activities shall be penalized both inside and outside the school. Beyond that, if any threat or any form of disrespecting the teachers etc shall not be tolerated. If any such incident occurs and if complaints are received then stern action shall be initiated against such insubordinate students.

 

  • Students forming themselves into gangs and involving in gang fights shall be seriously dealt with. Such practices must be discouraged by parents, teachers and the public by reporting any such gang activities. There are cases where such gangs are involved in fighting with rival gangs and many students are compelled into joining in order to protect themselves or due to prestige matters etc.

 

  • Any students in uniform who are found taking any intoxicants or any form of abusive substances shall not be tolerated. Such defaulting students if caught or reported and on confirmation of such acts shall be seriously dealt with.

 

  • Students in uniform below 18 years should not drive vehicles and if caught shall be panelized. Reaffirming the standing resolution in regard to the usage of Govt. vehicles for dropping and picking up of students from schools is strongly discouraged.

 

  • Students are advised to dress appropriately and decently.

 

  • Any cases of abuse amounting to harassment of students shall not be tolerated.

 

  • Concession of students transportation fare by taxis and buses must be strictly adhered to. Any cases of breach or denial of concession must be reported immediately.

 

  • Some private colleges, schools and hostels are managed by individuals for profit and business leading to astronomical rates of fees with little or no facilities. Coupled with that, imposition of fines against failed subjects and absentees are prevalent. Therefore, it is strongly cautioned that such practices in some institutions are very well noted and necessary action will be initiated.

 

  • Sale of any tobacco products is strictly prohibited in and around educational institutions’ and violators is liable to any action by the union for the welfare of the students.

 

  • Tuition rates and private tuition fees are once again made public. Angami Students’ Union (ASU) reiterates its resolution on tuition fee structure to be maintained and adhered to in all Angami Jurisdiction till further notification.

 

  The tuition fee structure include class 10 and below- Rs. 300 per students as monthly fee with 5 classes a week and minimum 1 hour for every classes; class 11 and 12- Rs. 400 per student as monthly fee with 5 classes in a week and Rs. 200 per student for classes every alternate day i.e. 3 classes in a week and the minimum duration for every class should be 1 hour; home tuition rate – Rs. 1000 only shall be charged as monthly fee with minimum 1 hour for every class. The ratio of Teacher/students for a single tuition batch should be 1:6. The Union cautions any person who fails to comply with the norms is strictly cautioned. Furthermore, we urge the general public to notify the Union’s Office in case of any non compliance.
