ATMA Dimapur create awareness among farmers about various schemes

Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Dimapur organized Kisan Mela during Republic day celebration at Dimapur for creating awareness among farmers about various schemes of the Department of Agriculture, Cooperation and Farmers Welfare (DAC&FW), Government of India as well as highlight the various activities of Agri and allied departments.


DAO & PD ATMA, Dimapur in a press release stated that Agri & Allied departments namely Agriculture, Soil and Water Conservation, Veterinary & Animal Husbandry, Land Resources, Cooperation and Sericulture along with Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Dimapur and Nagaland Beekeeping & Honey Mission participated in the Mela to highlight the flagship schemes/programmes of the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers welfare, Government of India and State Government; exhibit activities, innovations, products and by-products; bee-keeping, animal husbandry; soil testing and soil health management etc.


A farmer-scientist interaction cell was also set up to disseminate the latest technology to the farmers as well as clear doubts and problems of the farmers if any.


Various farm machineries and farmer-friendly tools were displayed and live demonstration on their uses was shown to the farmers.


The availability of facility of Kisan Call Centre (toll free number 1800-180-1551) for expert advice on all agricultural related problems/queries and Kisan Suvidha Mobile App that provide information on weather, market prices, extreme weather alerts, soil health, agri advisories etc related to agriculture was also disseminated to the farmers through flex banner and interactions. Stall for progressive farmers and successful and sustaining SHGs were also set up with an aim to provide platform for exhibiting and selling their produce and products as well as to motivate the visiting farmers through face to face interaction with the participants
