ATMA functionaries trained on preparation of modules

Medziphema, September 24 (MExN): Extension Education Institute-North East Region (EEI-NER), Assam Agricultural University (AAU) Jorhat in collaboration with State Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (SAMETI), Nagaland organised a workshop on ‘preparation of training modules for skill development on agricultural technologies’ from September 19 to 22 at SAMETI, Medziphema.  

A press release informed that the training was aimed at preparing ATMA functionaries from all districts to be able to prepare training modules of skill training under Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY), a skill-based training to rural youth on agri-based vocational areas in compliance with National Policy on Skill Development and Entrepreneurship -2015 on selected agriculture and allied areas to promote employment in rural areas.  

The resource persons for the training were Dr. AK Bhattacharya, Professor EEI, Assam Agriculture University (AAU), Jorhat and D. Borah, Research Associate, EEI (AAU) Jorhat.  

Team work was also done which was followed by compilation of teamwork outputs and up-scaling workshop outputs and panel discussion with Dr. KK Jha. Associate Professor, Department of Agricultural Extension, NU SASRD.  

The valedictory function was chaired by Sentinaro Longchar, DPD SAMETI while feedback from the trainees was given by Monthung Merry and Aolemla Kichu, DPD Longlen and BTM, Zunheboto, respectively. In his speech, Course Director, Dr. AK Bhattacharya encouraged the trainees to take the training experience to their respective posting places and impart the knowledge to the target groups in order to fulfill the mandate given by the Prime Minister under PMKVY; STRY.  The programme ended with a vote of thanks from Dr. Ithika C. Swu, DPD SAMETI.
