ATMA Kiphire conducts training on mushroom cultivation

Kiphire, August 20 (MExN): ATMA Kiphire, Longmatra block, conducted training and demonstration on Oyster mushroom cultivation at Sangtsoze village on August 12 targeting women Self Help Groups (SHGs). It also inaugurated a Pineapple Farm School at Sanphure village on August 16.


A press release from ATMA Longmatra block stated that ATM, Tsungrozen demonstrated and deliberated on the benefits of mushroom cultivation and its contribution in elevating the economic status of the family. Mushroom spawns were distributed at the end of the programme to the beneficiaries.


Meanwhile, during the inauguration of pineapple farm school, Tetsangmong was appointed as the farm teacher. BTM, Moakumzuk highlighted on functions of ATMA and concept of farm school and the role of the farm teacher. He also emphasized on the economic benefits of pineapple farming. Farmers’ groups were also mobilized and seed money was handed over to the SHGs during the programme. Altogether 38 farmers along with ATMA functionaries attended the programme.
